Dr. Stewart was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin.  He graduated near the top of his class while attending Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, earning his DDS degree. Following dental school, Dr. Stewart served in the United States Air Force for six years as both a restorative dentist and a periodontist.  He received his specialty training in Periodontics at the University of North Carolina Dental School, considered to be one of the very best programs in the country.  He continues to successfully complete extensive continuing education, always keeping his knowledge current.  Dr. Stewart is one of only a few periodontists in Texas to complete the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch Preceptorship in Dental Implantology and the surgical curiculum of the Misch Implant Institute in Detroit, including Advanced Bone Grafting.

 

                      

Dr. Stewart is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology and the Southwest Society of Periodontists.  He has served on the Peer Review Committee of the Dallas County Dental Society.  He is a past Clinical Instructor in Periodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry.  He is a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology.

 

Dr. Stewart has been married to Jeanann, his high school sweetheart, for over 30 years.  His daughter, Rebecca, teaches first grade in Dallas.  Her husband, Wade, is a talented graphic designer and photographer. Dr. Stewart's son, Adam, attends the University of North Texas, majoring in Radio, Television and Film.  Dr. Stewart is grateful for love and support of his parents who now live in Houston. He is very active in his church, twice serving on the Vestry board of directors.  He enjoys reading and listening to music of many varieties as well as attending concerts and plays.  He also loves to fly fish, although not as often as he would like.  Dr. Stewart and his wife love to travel when time permits.
